Suicide Boom
Twice a suicide bombing, which occurred in almost the same time, killing at least 23 people and injuring 50 others.
Suicide bombings "twin" that occurred near a small shop in the parking lot, which at the same time retreat location of the truck drivers. The trucks carrying logistical supplies to U.S. military bases and NATO joint forces, which are located at Kandahar air base.
According to Kandahar Police Chief, Gen. Abdul Raziq, the first suicide bombing carried and detonated a motorcycle rider.
The second explosion occurred, when the residents are working to help the victims who fell from the first explosion. A suicide bomber walk over the residents who panicked and tried to help it, and then detonated explosives attached to his body.
"All the dead were civilians. None of them came from the military," said Raziq.
Meanwhile, according to a spokesman for the Kandahar provincial government, Faisal Javid, most of the victims are those who work in shops around the blast site, or passersby. Numerous injuries were reported still in critical condition.
Botched the Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi claimed responsibility. The scene is about 500 meters from the military headquarters of Afghanistan, or about five kilometers from the main gate of the Kandahar air base.
