Awareness of young people, especially women, to increase contraceptive use. This has a direct impact on the reduction in pregnancy rates among teenagers. Thus the results of recent research, health experts in the United States.Data at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) United States shows, teen birth rate has declined by 44 percent since 1990, to 34 births for every 1,000 women. Whereas in 2010, there were approximately 368 000 infants born to adolescent girls."We know there is a decline in teen pregnancy was amazing, and the increased awareness for the no-risk sex among teens. In addition, contraceptive use continues to increase," said the researcher, Crystal Tyler Pirtle, a CDC health scientist.Tyler also noted the decline in pregnancy rates by 16 percent in adolescents who are sexually active. "The majority of teens reported never having sex," said Tyler. To make a low pregnancy rate among teenagers, Tyler's doctors advised the teens and more talk about the importance of delaying sexual intercourse. In fact, teens who are sexually active can be counseled to stop having sex."It would be great if young people know that most of them have never had sex," he added. These findings were published on May 4, 2012 in CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.Using data from the National Survey of Family Growth, researchers found, about 60 percent of sexually active teens say they use an effective contraceptive method. Type of contraception is meant, among others, intrauterine devices (IUDs), implants, pills, patch, ring or injectable contraceptives.Although these findings are viewed as progress in reducing teen pregnancy rates, a comprehensive approach is needed related to sexual and reproductive health issues including the promotion of the importance of continuous delay sexual activity and increase contraceptive use among sexually experienced teens."We are in the target to achieve that goal," added Tyler.Dr. Lawrence Friedman, director of adolescent medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, said, "This is good news that many young people who are already using contraception when they are sexually active, and that young people prefer to put off doing the activity sexual. "Friedman adds, the fact that pregnancy rates decline could mean that fewer teens are having sex, but they (teenagers) may prefer oral sex or masturbation and not intercourse.
