These results not only delivered it took the top standings of the Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, who finished in second place, but the world champion in 2007 and 2011, this back-to-back to conquer a circuit that has never been defeated for a look at the MotoGP.
Thus, in just two weeks, Stoner fulfill his dream to end victory drought in the circuit which has always failed to conquer. Last week, the Australian rider Lorenzo was defeated in a tight battle at the Jerez circuit, Portugal.
Donate 25 points in the third series was made Stoner are top of the standings with a total collecting 66 points, 1 point for Lorenzo. While his teammate Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, who last season became the winner here, had to settle for finishing in third place and collected 52 points (third in the standings).
Course of the race
When the red lights mark the race begins, immediately jumped in front of Stoner. Lorenzo was thrust from the fourth starting position to move up to second, shifting Pedrosa, who had lost his balance and almost fell. Yamaha rider Ben Spies and Crutchlow (Yamaha Tech 3), respectively, in the back.
Stoner did not have to wait a long time to get away from the pursuit of its rival. Australian rider, who is chasing his first win at Estoril in his career in MotoGP, it's already winning 1.0687 seconds upon entering the second lap. Former Ducati rider was alone in front, while Lorenzo and Pedrosa fighting for second place.
In the middle row, Valentino Rossi, who started from ninth, trying to close Spies, Alvaro Bautista (Gresini Honda). "The Doctor" continues to keep a distance with the two drivers, who finished 6-7. As for his team mate, Nicky Hayden, slumped to number 11 (start from 10th position).
Memaski fourth lap, Stoner further ahead with a 1.255 seconds advantage. Apparently, the determination to end victory drought at Estoril Circuit, as well as the inaugural win in Jerez last week, making him not want to lose momentum. Meanwhile Crutchlow dropped to fifth, behind his team mate, Andrea Dovizioso.
Lap six, Spies, which was the fastest in first free practice (Friday, 05/04/2012), drooping after overtaken Bautista. Not long ago, Rossi passed so he dropped to ninth, while Rossi climbed to seventh, behind Bautista.

Two laps later, Lorenzo slowly cut the distance to Stoner. If you previously left behind more than 1 second, now the Spanish rider, who has a flashy record at Estoril, just 0.957 seconds behind. Exciting duel is expected to take place despite the 2010 world champion had a chance to complain there is a problem in handling during qualifying.
Competition in the front row just between Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. The group is already too far ahead of his opponents as more than 5 seconds with the rider in the second row, which led Dovizioso. Former teammate Stoner and Pedrosa is under pressure from Crutchlow competing for the fourth position.
Entering lap 12, Stoner and Lorenzo distances are very close because only about 0.1 seconds apart. Pedrosa continues to lurk because it was not too far from Lorenzo, who last season failed to win in Estoril since defeated Pedrosa (since his debut in MotoGP in 2008, Lorenzo has always won in Estoril).
Although it continues to come under pressure, Stoner was able to survive. Until lap 16, he continues to lead the course of the race, even widen the distance again on lap 19 to 0.4 seconds. While Pedrosa began to fall behind in the hunt for the main podium for the cloth he had more than 1 second adrift.
When the race five laps remaining of a total of 28 laps, Stoner, Lorenzo was still able to handle pressure. Victory more clearly visible in front of it because it was away again to more than 0.5 seconds.
Sure enough, until the last lap, Stoner was overtaken and be the first to touch the finish line. Thus, he came back to realize the dream for first win at Estoril after Jerez this weekend. That is, within two weeks, Stoner conquered the two circuits that during his career in MotoGP has never been realized.
The fourth position is occupied Dovizioso, who managed to overcome the pressure Crutchlow. Bautista occupied sixth place, followed by Rossi, Spies, Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda), and Hector Barbera (Pramac Ducati).
